Congratulations to Springstead Senior, Richie Rivera for capturing the 113 lb. FHSAA 2A Wrestling State Championship. After blowing through the competition, not allowing a point into the semi-finals, he defeated Jensen Beach’s Wyatt Kirkman to get to the finals. In the final match, which was a rematch from earlier in the year, Rivera earned the title outright with a pin of Brandon’s defending State Champ, Trey Lane.

Richie becomes Springstead Wrestling’s 30th individual State Champion.

The other 6 Eagle wrestlers all managed to win at least one match in the State tournament, but none were able to place in the top 6 in their respective weight-classes.
