Springstead Athletics was truly honored to be able to put this event on & to work with the whole Mahler crew. It was a remarkable site to see the local community, as well as the football coaching community, come together to rally behind Clayton. Sports can be a tremendous vehicle for good. The #Clash4Clayton is just another reminder of that. Through the collection of $2 tickets as well as the community’s donations at the gate, Springstead Athletics was able to donate $3,000.00 to the Mahler Family to help offset medical costs and added expenses as Clayton kicks cancer butt. Thank you to all who came out to watch a little football and support Clayton.
Springstead Athletics is extremely grateful for all of the work put in by all of our volunteers! Parents, administrators, coaches, current and former Eagle players as well as local business members all donated their time to make this event a success for all involved. We would also like to thank the 12 teams that participated, the FHSAA and the West Central Officials Association for taking care of the football side of things. Lastly, we had several local businesses that stepped up big time and without them Springstead Athletics simply would not have been able to donate the gate to the Mahler Family. Thank you to Chic-fil-a and Gators Dockside for providing food for the officials, to Marco’s Pizza for providing the food for the coaches and volunteers, to i9 Sports of Hernando for providing the Officials with cool down and hydration tents, to Sir Speedy for providing graphic design, marketing and working the ticket gate, and to Dr. Schneider of Moss Chiropractic for fulfilling our athletic training needs.
