Female Athlete of the Year – Olivia DeLoach
Member of our Volleyball and Track & Field teams, Olivia is a well-rounded, student-athlete who carries an impressive cumulative 3.2978 weighted GPA. In the fall, she has been a 3 year starter on the volleyball team helping to lead them to an undefeated county championship in 2017 and garnered All-North Suncoast Honorable mention and a spot in the PHSC Pasco/Hernando All-Star game in 2018. She finishes her career with a ridiculous 327 kills, 75 aces and 470 digs. For her efforts in the classroom and on the court, she has signed a scholarship to continue her volleyball and academic career at Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut, next fall.
In the spring, Olivia continued to leave her mark by competing in track and field. She competed in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4×100 relay, triple jump and long jump (which she advanced to states in 2018). DeLoach’s efforts helped the Girls Track & Field team to a several 1st and 2nd place team finishes throughout the 2019 season, including a District Runner-Up spot this past month. Olivia’s work ethic, competitiveness and drive were perhaps best illustrated over the past month or so. Despite a broken hand, she did not want to let her teammates down, she continued to train and compete to the best of her ability, finishing the season out. Olivia DeLoach’s drive, commitment, balance, competitive fire and stack of accolades made her an obvious choice for Springstead’s 2018-2019 Female Athlete of the Year.
