Junior Varsity Football, Varsity Football · Adrian Cabrera Signs with D2 Erskine College


Congrats to Adrian Cabrera for signing with D2, Erskine College is Due West, South Carolina to continue his academic and athletic career.

Adrian has also competed in wrestling, weightlifting and track & field in his time in Eagle Country.

Cabrera ends his Springstead Football career holding 2 school and county records. One for most tackles in a season(169) and the other for most tackles in a career. He was a 4 year starter at LB where on top of the tackles, he accumulated 5 sacks, 2 INTs, 1 FR, 3 FF, 1 Blocked FG and 1 Blocked Punt. Offensively, while only filling in at fullback from time to time, Adrian also scored 9 TDs on the ground and compiled 727 yards rushing in his career. He was also the unquestioned leader of the “Red Tide” defense that in this past season broke the school record with 5 total shutouts. The team also tied Springstead’s best ever regular season record at 9-1.

Cabrera was also named to the 2019 FACA North/South State All-Star Game where he represented The Stead and Hernando County at the State level. He was named 2nd Team All-State 2018 & 2019. In 2019, he was also named the inaugural GC8 Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year, as well as the Glory Days Grill Hernando County Defenive Player of the Year. Adrian is the only player in Hernando County history to be named County Defensive Player of the Year 3 years in a row(2017,2018 & 2019).
